Installation at a Glance

A quick overview of the key steps. Watch the full video above or download the PDF for complete details.

01
Mount your bikes on the rack securely

Make sure all bikes are properly loaded and secured to your hitch rack before fitting the cover. The cover is designed to go over the bikes — not hold them in place.

02
Protect sensitive areas before covering

Before draping the cover, wrap any sensitive components — such as handlebars and pedals — with an old cloth or soft padding to prevent scratching during transport.

03
Drape the cover over the bikes from the top

Start from the top and work the cover down over both sides. Ensure the cover opening faces toward your vehicle for the best fit and easiest access.

04
Use a photocopy of your license plate — not the actual plate

Important: Never cover your actual license plate. Place a clear photocopy of your license plate in the cover's window pocket so it remains visible to other drivers and law enforcement at all times.

05
Fasten all straps tightly and secure all loose ends

Tighten all straps and tuck away or fasten any loose strap ends so nothing is left dangling. Double-check every attachment point before driving — especially before highway speeds.

06
Do a quick walk-around before driving

Walk around your vehicle to confirm the cover is sitting evenly, nothing is loose or flapping, and the license plate copy is clearly visible from behind.

Before You Drive

Important Safety Notes

Please read before your first trip. These guidelines help keep you, your passengers, and other drivers safe on the road.

Know Your State's Laws

Traffic laws vary by state. Always follow all safety rules and regulations of every state you are travelling through. Some states have specific requirements for rear rack covers and license plate visibility.

License Plate Visibility

Never cover your actual license plate. Always use a clear photocopy placed in the cover's window pocket. Your plate must be legible at all times while on public roads.

Secure Everything Before Every Trip

Check that all straps are tight and all loose ends are secured every time before driving. A loose cover or dangling strap at highway speeds is a serious safety hazard.
